Built for workers and their families, it was one of Germany's early social housing projects — based on a remarkably progressive idea: giving people not just a place to live, but a place to belong.

After decades of change and years of vacancy, a four-year restoration brought the listed ensemble back to life. Historic architecture and original details were carefully preserved. Everything else was brought into the present.
Since 2021, Kleine Bremer Höhe has been home again — today to nearly 200 people from around the world.
